Jake Maccoby is a seasoned speechwriter and communications strategist who has advised presidential campaigns, Cabinet officials, and a range of U.S. senators, governors, executives, nonprofit leaders and public figures.

Following four years working in state government in Massachusetts and in public affairs at SKDKnickerbocker, Jake served on President Barack Obama’s debate preparation team during the 2012 presidential campaign. After the election, Jake worked at the U.S. Department of Justice as Chief Speechwriter and Strategic Communications Advisor for Attorney General Eric Holder, and later for Attorney General Loretta Lynch. He was a policy advisor on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, and participated in debate preparation and speechwriting for Secretary Clinton and Senator Tim Kaine. After the 2016 campaign, he developed and led a media company focused around former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara – with properties in podcasts, text, video, and live events – before founding JDMaccoby Strategies in 2018.

Today, Jake works with communicators and public figures of all backgrounds across the country, from national leaders and public servants to rock stars and professional athletes. He has appeared regularly on cable news channels including CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, HLN, and CNBC. Jake is a graduate of Tufts University and lives in Washington, D.C..
