Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, or Xiuhtezcatl Roske-Martinez, is a climate change activist, hip-hop artist and youth director of Earth Guardians, a worldwide conservation organization.

As a teenager, Martinez has given TED talks and spoken before the United Nations on environmental policy.
Martinez’s first name is an Aztec word pronounced “shoo-TEHZ-caht”.

Martinez was raised in Boulder, Colorado.
In September 2017, he announced on The Daily Show that he’s organized a lawsuit against the federal government, suing the Trump administration, for failing to act on climate change.
