Biography
Erica Werner is the Chief Congressional Correspondent for the Associated Press, where she covers House and Senate leadership and major legislation in both chambers. She previously reported on the Obama administration and the passage of the 2010 passage of the Affordable Care Act before joining the AP’s Capitol Hill team in 2013 to cover the debate over immigration reform.
Werner joined the AP in 2000 reporting from the Los Angeles bureau. She moved to Washington in 2003 and spent five years as a regional reporter covering the California and Nevada congressional delegations.
She started her career at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in Little Rock, Ark.
