Brian McGuire has been a policy director at Brownstein since June 12, 2017
Since Nov. 2014 to May 2017, McGuire had served as U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) chief of staff in Washington, D.C., and was responsible for home-state priorities and advising on strategic communications, politics and policy. He also served as Sen. McConnell’s chief speechwriter and deputy communications director for eight years when McConnell served as the U.S. Senate Republican leader. Under the Bush administration, Brian served as the chief speechwriter for the Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Prior to that, he was a reporter and columnist.
McGuire earned his master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and his bachelor’s degree at St. John’s College.
