Biography

Anne McNamara is an Emmy award winning reporter who joined the WAVY 10 and FOX 43 team in August 2011.

Her 10 On Your Side investigation into Norfolk tax preparer, Mo Money Taxes, resulted in the company closing its doors. Anne's exclusive interviews with Mo Money's CEO were cited in search warrants, which led to a federal investigation and Congressional hearing in Washington, D.C.

Anne was one of the first reporters on the scene of the Navy jet crash in Virginia Beach in April. She provided live coverage through the night, bringing viewers the welcome news of the "Good Friday Miracle."

The ever-changing weather in Hampton Roads has also kept Anne busy with live coverage during Hurricane Irene and the Hampton tornado. Speaking of weather, Anne comes to Hampton Roads from a much colder climate. She most recently worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WGME in Portland, Maine.

In Maine, Anne won an Emmy award for her spot news coverage of a plane crash in Biddeford. Her work at WGME was also recognized by the Associated Press and the Maine Association of Broadcasters. Anne got her start in television reporting both news and sports at WSYR, the ABC affiliate in Syracuse, N.Y. Anne is a graduate of Syracuse University (Go Orange!) and a proud native of Lowell, Mass. In her spare time, Anne will be exploring all Hampton Roads has to offer, but you can probably find her at the beach.
