Watch Guard 24/7 was formed in 2009 by John Rafferty, a retired lieutenant from the New York City Police Department.

The company has strong roots in law enforcement under his leadership. John was one of the most decorated Lieutenants in the NYPD upon his retirement and the recipient of the Combat Cross, the second highest honor in the police department. He was assigned to some of the busiest and crime ridden commands in Brooklyn, NY and rose quickly through the ranks to sergeant and lieutenant. He brings this extensive experience in dealing with crime and crime prevention, security issues and investigations to the forefront of WATCH GUARD’s day to day operations. John leads with and instills upon his employees the same dedication, attention to detail, and responsiveness that he worked hard to achieve in the NYPD. John is an expert in his field. He is an expert witness providing testimony in court and is frequently featured on Fox News as a commentator on security issues.
John graduated from St. John’s University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 small business program.
