Biography
Brig. Gen. Scott L. Pleus is the Director of Plans, Programs, and Requirements, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. He is responsible for planning and programming $40 billion annually for a force of more than 140,000 personnel and 2,600 aircraft, supporting nine unified commands and NORAD. He is also responsible for functions relating to the Combat Air Forces’ weapons systems acquisition, modernization, sustainment, and test involving over 100 programs. Additionally, he directs a staff of 16 divisions, four operating locations, and five Air Force Core Function Teams.
General Pleus received his commission in 1989 through the Air Force ROTC program at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. During his career, which includes five overseas assignments, he’s commanded at the squadron, group and wing levels and was a Secretary of Defense Corporate Fellow at Sun Microsystems in California. His staff assignments include Executive Officer to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force. Prior to his current assignment, he was the Director, F-35 Integration Office, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
General Pleus is a command pilot with more than 2,300 flying hours, including combat time earned during Operations Desert Fox and Southern Watch.
