Mike Morey has spent close to 20 years in communications, public relations, campaign management and politics. He specializes in war room management, rapid response and crisis communications, leading strategic communications for Fortune 500 companies, major development projects, public affairs campaigns and political candidates.

At SKDK he has managed strategic communications for a range of clients including Perry Ellis International, The Rockefeller Foundation and its 100 Resilient Cities initiative, the City of New Orleans and the NOLA18 Foundation, Microsoft, the American Beverage Association, the NoVo Foundation, Real Estate Board of New York, Steward Health Care System and Discovery Land Company, among others. He has also worked on more than a dozen campaigns for public office, including campaigns for Sen. Chuck Schumer, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn.

At SKDK, Mike recently managed a fifteen-member team that executed the weeks-long 10-year anniversary commemoration of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, working for Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s office, The Rockefeller Foundation and 100 Resilient Cities. As part of that effort, he oversaw all media, events and communications programs that culminated with visits from three United States presidents, 69 independent media panels and two major concert performances attended by thousands.

Mike came to SKDK from Sen. Schumer’s highly charged and widely respected press shop, where he served as the senator’s New York communications director. There he executed hundreds of news conferences related to consumer protection, homeland security, infrastructure and privacy matters.

Mike earned his bachelor’s degree from Purchase College, SUNY, and master’s from American University. In addition to his communications work, he has served as an adjunct professor teaching politics courses at Iona College, Purchase College, NYU and American University. He’s a frequent guest commentator on NY1’s Inside City Hall and Fios-1 News. He lives in Westchester with his wife and two children.
