Biography

Described by TechCrunch as “among the best-positioned people on either the investment or the operator side to weigh in on the current and future state of the space startup industry,” Chad Anderson is the founder and managing partner of Space Capital, where he has been pioneering investment in the Space Economy for over a decade. He is also author of The Space Economy: Capitalize on the Greatest Business Opportunity of our Lifetime, published by Wiley.

Regularly featured in the media as an expert, Anderson has appeared in outlets including CNBC, Bloomberg, CNN, the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and the Financial Times. In addition to his work at Space Capital, Anderson serves on boards including that of the Satellite Applications Catapult, which supports the United Kingdom’s national strategy to grow its space sector. Anderson has served as director of the board of the Explorers Club, a nonprofit that promotes the scientific exploration of land, sea, air, and space. He was also a member of the User Advisory Committee for the International Space Station U.S. National Laboratory.

Before founding Space Capital, Anderson led a successful career at JPMorgan Chase, where he managed a $50-billion real estate portfolio through the Great Recession. He has an MBA with a focus on entrepreneurship and innovation from the University of Oxford.
