Biography
Dr. Sanam Hafeez is the founder and Clinical Director of Comprehensive Consultation Psychological Services, P.C., a neuropsychological, developmental and educational center. She received her doctorate from Hofstra University and completed her post-doctoral work in neuro-developmental psychology at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Hafeez is a New York State licensed psychologist and a New York State certified school psychologist.
Dr. Hafeez has a faculty appointment at Columbia University’s PhD program in Clinical Psychology. She has previously been faculty in the department of Psychology at many colleges and universities, including Hofstra University, York College, Queensborough Community College, and Molloy College. She has written and presented several papers on various aspects of development, learning problems, behavior modification and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Dr. Hafeez has written position papers for CUNY to waive standardized test requirements for students with disabilities and continues to advocate for special needs, bilingual and underserved populations in all settings.
Dr. Hafeez has been providing bilingual assessment services to the students of New York City, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties, both privately and as an approved provider of the Department of Education. Dr. Hafeez and her staff are also highly involved in evaluations of college students with disabilities and advocate for accommodations in the college and standardized test settings and even the workplace. She provides fitness of duty and firearm qualification evaluations for NYPD, Port Authority NY/NJ, and military candidates. Dr. Sanam Hafeez also serves as an expert witness in cases of medical malpractice, immigration, civil and criminal matters. Dr. Hafeez’s expertise in forensic psychological evaluations is recognized through her appointment to New York City’s esteemed 18-B Assigned Counsel Plan. She is a member of New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA) and NYSPA’s Forensic Division, where she also serves as a coordinator for special events. Dr. Hafeez is also a long standing member of Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) and a highly trained CBT clinician.
