PERSON: Amere May, Sr.

Some may know him as “Big A.M.” or as a player who dominated the basketball courts in the 1990’s; others may know him as an astute intellectual, a powerful preacher, or a prolific orator. No matter your point of reference, there are few places you will travel where people do not know the name of Amere J. May, Sr.

Pastor Amere was a former high school, college and professional basketball player. He matriculated at Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and Shaw University Raleigh, NC. He participated in the 1997 NBA draft, and later played overseas in the countries of Israel and Argentina. But God had another calling for Pastor Amere.

Pastor Amere J. May, Sr. is the Senior Pastor of Abundant Faith Word Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan. His life experiences nurtured this unique call to the ministry of reconciliation and honed his distinct ability to transcend tradition in his delivery of the Gospel. His messages regularly reach diverse people of manifold backgrounds, cultures and denominations. In addition to pastoring and motivational speaking, Pastor Amere has appeared for interview on the TCT Network, the Word Network, and Detroit’s Impact Network.

Pastor May’s charismatic style and gentle size captivates his audience. A true end-time preacher, he’s been commissioned to speak to the nations and the worldwide body of Christ. His desire is to affect a paradigm shift in the spirit and minds of God’s people, acting as a catalyst to spur them into kingdom living. He has lived a life of integrity, displayed authentic gifting, and thus impacted the nation, causing many great men and women of God in America to seek him out.
