Biography
Edward Henson is the President of St. Lucie Shooting Center, LLC. He has 20 years of combined service with the New York City Housing Authority Police and the NYPD, and was assigned to the Detective Bureau for 16 of those 20 years. While with the Detective Bureau, he conducted thousands of investigations pertaining to an assortment of criminal matters: assault, rape, robbery, identity theft and homicide. Ed earned a reputation for being an exceptional investigator and was awarded numerous citations during his law enforcement career. He retired from the NYPD in 2002 having attained the prestigious rank of Detective First Grade. Prior to the NYPD, he worked several years in the private retail sector as a security supervisor and investigator.
Ed served for many years on the Board of Directors as Vice President of the Long Island Shields, Inc. He is the recipient of the “Shields Police Officer of the Month Award” in 1994, and “Outstanding Member of the Year Award” in 1989-1990.
Ed earned an A.S. in Criminal Justice and Instructor Certification from the Commission on Criminal Justice Standards and Training for the State of Florida, and completed a variety of additional investigative courses. He was formerly an Adjunct Faculty member of the Indian River State College. Ed has been a featured speaker at several schools and organizations.
