Biography
Ron Hopper is an experienced law enforcement professional with a distinguished career in both the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) in Florida. Hopper’s career in law enforcement spans decades, with a focus on national security, counterterrorism, and the development of law enforcement personnel.
Hopper began his law enforcement career in 1992 with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office before joining the FBI in 1998. During his time with the FBI, he held various positions, including Special Agent, Supervisory Special Agent, Unit Chief, and Assistant Special Agent in Charge. He was involved in high-profile investigations and played a key role in responding to national security events such as the Pulse Nightclub terror attack. His leadership extended to overseeing budgets and directing a large team of personnel.
In 2021, Hopper transitioned to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, where he served as the Captain of the Domestic Security Division. In June 2024, he was appointed Undersheriff, overseeing the strategic direction and operations of the agency.
Hopper holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Florida and has completed graduate coursework in criminology at the University of South Florida. Throughout his career, he has contributed to the development of law enforcement training programs.
