PERSON: Cara Jennings
Biography
Cara Jennings, a longtime Lake Worth activist and a former city commissioner, was caught on video in a Starbucks in Gainesville, Fl verbally berating Florida Gov. Rick Scott. She served as a Lake Worth commissioner from 2006 to 2010. Most recently, she has worked for the Service Employees International Union. Cara Jennings has been involved in demonstrations on several issues through the years. They include:
2008: About a Florida Power & Light Co. plant proposed for suburban West Palm Beach that opponents said would be destructive to the environment.
2009: Jennings was arrested in Miami in 2009 for civil disobedience during a demonstration at the Israeli embassy.
2012: Jennings was captured on video heckling Newt Gingrich during a rally in Coral Springs.
2012: Jennings and three other Palm Beach County activists interrupted U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio’s speech to Florida delegates in Palm Harbor.
