Peter Kauffmann is the founder and principal of Kauffmann Public Affairs.
Kauffmann was as an Intelligence Officer in the United States Navy. He served as a geopolitical analyst specializing in the Pacific region and twice deployed aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln as Collection Manager for the carrier strike group and earned the Navy Achievement Medal for his work during tsunami relief operations off the coast of Indonesia. Prior to joining the military, Kauffmann was Press Secretary for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. In the 2000 election cycle, he was Press Secretary for the New York State Coordinated Campaign where he directed the Democratic Party’s rapid response operation in support of the Clinton Senate campaign. He has also served as a Deputy Press Secretary at the Democratic National Committee.
Kauffmann is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College and resides in Queens, New York with his wife and two daughters.
