Biography

Jake Wallis Simons is an award-winning journalist and novelist. He has worked for the Telegraph, CNN, the BBC and others, and is Associate Editor (Global) at MailOnline.

He has reported from all over the world, from the Middle East to Europe and Africa. Meet the Settlers, his groundbreaking digital documentary about the West Bank for the Telegraph, won the European Newspapers Award, was honoured at the Webbys and was shortlisted for the British Press Award.

Jake’s four novels include the bestselling The English German Girl, a Second World War novel about the Kindertransport, which won the Fiction Uncovered prize.

He has worked as a writer for The Times and has presented a number of documentaries for BBC Radio 4, where he has appeared frequently on From Our Own Correspondent. His latest documentary, Inside Interpol, was broadcast on Radio 4 in June.

Jake is also a regular commentator on television and radio, including Sky and the BBC, and has written regularly for POLITICO. He holds a first class degree from Oxford and a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia, and is a Visiting Fellow at Bournemouth University. He lives in London and Winchester.
