Biography

Jenny Beth Martin is the President and Co-Founder of Tea Party Patriots. Born in Georgia in 1970, she lives in the northern suburbs of Atlanta with her husband, Lee Martin, and her son and daughter twins.

In February of 2009 following a series of massive expansions of the United States government by Congress under both Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, Jenny Beth Martin and several other concerned citizens formed the beginnings of the modern Tea Party movement. Making use of her already established social and blogging network, as well as an email list of contacts that she had built over years of political volunteer work, she contributed to the nascent Tea Party movement by reaching out to and mobilizing thousands of like-minded citizens.
Since then, under the leadership of Jenny Beth Martin, Tea Party Patriots has grown to be the largest and most effective national umbrella group within the Tea Party movement. Jenny Beth Martin and Tea Party Patriots now use their network to reach millions of Americans every week with education and updates about fiscal responsibility, free market principles, and constitutionally limited government. Because of her continual involvement in the major events that set the course of the United States government, Jenny Beth Martin is a frequent guest on almost every major television, radio, print, and online news outlet in America. In 2010 Time Magazine listed Jenny Beth Martin as one of the 100 Most Influential Leaders in the World. Her first book, Tea Party Patriots: The Second American Revolution, was published in 2012.

Before the founding of Tea Party Patriots, Jenny Beth had transitioned out of her career as a Technology Executive for The Home Depot, and prior to that Mead, to raise her twins who were born in 2003 and to volunteer heavily in politics, in her church, and in charitable & community organizations. She holds degrees from the University of Georgia (B.B.A. Management Information Systems, 1992) and Reinhardt College (1990).
