Biography

Darlene Hill is a reporter for WFLD’s afternoon & evening newscasts and a former anchor for the station. She is a three-time Emmy award winner (two regional Emmys and one national) and a recipient of the national Edward R. Murrow award. Just recently, her coverage of the Derrion Albert beating won WFLD a Peabody award. (Hill & News Director Carol Fowler will be picking up the award in New York on Saturday.) She has been with WFLD since February 1994.

Hill, an Ohio native, has been very active in Chicago area community service and charities. She works extensively with teenagers, mentoring students at various Chicagoland schools. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and its local chapter, the Chicago Association of Black Journalists.
