Biography

Mr. Stanley S. Hubbard serves as the Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of Hubbard Broadcasting Inc. Mr. Hubbard is also an executive with several other entities affiliated with Hubbard Broadcasting, including Conus Communications Company Limited Partnership. He serves with First Team Sports, Inc. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of U.S. Satellite Broadcast (Alternatively, United States Satellite Broadcasting Co. Inc.) since November 1995 and also served as its Chairman. He joined HBI in 1951. He Founded United States Satellite Broadcasting Co. Inc., and served as its Chairman.

Mr. Hubbard’s industry accomplishments include overseeing the building of the first successful UHF television station in a VHF market with others in the Hubbard organization, creating the world’s first satellite news gathering organization - Conus Communications; and establishing United States Satellite Broadcasting (USSB).

He serves as a Director of Interrad Medical, Inc. Mr. Hubbard served as a Director of Fingerhut Direct Marketing, Inc., (formerly, Fingerhut Companies Inc.) since 1990. He serves as a Trustee of University of St. Thomas. He has served on government committees and commissions and has testified before Congress on industry matters. Mr. Hubbard was a member of the Presidential advisory council on the National Information Infrastructure and a member of Congressional Chairman Lionel Van Deerlin’s Broadcast Advisory Committee to the House Subcommittee on Communications. He is an inductee in the first Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame; the recipient of the Satellite Broadcasting Communications Association’s Arthur C. Clarke Award and also of the broadcasting industry’s highest award. He was co-recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Broadcasters in 1995.
