PERSON: Janell Ross
Biography
Janell Ross is a reporter for The Fix who writes about race, gender, immigration and inequality. She has written about race, criminal justice, poverty, unemployment, immigration, gentrification, the state of the social safety net, politics as well as local, state and national policy for The Huffington Post, USA Today, The Root, The Tennessean, The News & Observer and the Corpus Christi Caller-Times. You know, all the happy stuff. Janell, a graduate of both Vassar College and Columbia University, is in the process of completing her first book. It will explore racial economic inequality, its causes and consequences in the wake of the recession. Janell’s book will be published by Beacon Press in 2014.
