PERSON: Therese O’Shea

Biography

Therese O’Shea joined WINK News in May 2013. She’s thrilled to be living and working on the east coast after spending a year and a half out west. Therese is part of the WINK News This Morning team, working as Morning Traffic Anchor and Noon Anchor.

Therese is passionate about sharing the most up-to-the-minute information with viewers to help get their day started smoothly and with a smile. Before moving to sunny southwest Florida, Therese worked at KKCO-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado as Morning Anchor. During her time there, she covered several regional stories that went national, including the Aurora theater shooting and both presidential candidates’ visits to Grand Junction during the 2012 election. Therese began her professional career with FiOS 1 News New Jersey, covering local stories spread across her home state.

Therese hails from northeastern New Jersey, growing up just across the Hudson River from New York City. She left the Garden State to attend college at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Media Studies. Attending college close to New York allowed Therese to take advantage of network-level internships, spending a summer working full-time at Dateline NBC, and a semester at Channel One News at CBS News.

She spends her spare time enjoying the sun and sand here in Southwest Florida, and volunteering with several local non-profit organizations, including St. Matthew’s House, Girls on the Run of Collier County, and serving on the advisory board for her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha at Florida Gulf Coast University.
