I was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. Yes, I definitely bleed blue — GO CATS! I consider landing my first job as a reporter in my home state to be a true blessing. I love the Commonwealth and I am very excited to get to know the people and places that make up a special part of our state, Eastern Kentucky. It is my privilege to share the stories and happenings in this great place! I graduated from Lexington Christian Academy where I played on the 2007 state championship basketball team, as well as, the school’s volleyball team. After high school, I continued my education at Georgetown College. I also played volleyball for the college. I earned a degree in Communication & Media Studies with a minor in Political Science. My sophomore year of college was when I began developing a serious interest in Broadcast Journalism. I worked at our campus radio station, WVRG, and I did internships at stations in Lexington and Nashville. By the close of these experiences, I was hooked. I knew this industry was for me. Following my graduation in May of 2012, I received the chance of a lifetime. I was able to work as a production associate for NBC’s 2012 Summer Olympic coverage in New York City. Being a part of one of the biggest broadcast productions in history was truly an invaluable experience. In my spare time, I have fun being with my dog, Macy. She is my biggest fan! I also treasure time with family and friends. I am a sports fanatic and love to watch or play a good game of basketball, volleyball, football, or really any kind of ball- Yes, I am a Kentucky girl! It is a thrill for me to call the mountains of Eastern Kentucky my new home and I look forward to working every day for you.
