Mr. James Patrick McCaughan serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Principal Global Investors, LLC. He oversees all global asset management activities, including developing global strategies and identifying and analyzing market opportunities. Mr. McCaughan has been the President of Global Asset Management at Principal Financial Group Inc. Since December 3, 2003.

He serves as President of Principal Global Investor of Principal Financial Group Inc. Mr. McCaughan served as an Executive Vice President and Global Head of Asset Management at Principal Financial Group Inc. Since April 2002. From 2000 to 2002, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Americas division at Credit Suisse Asset Management in New York. From 1998 to 1999, Mr. McCaughan served as the President and Chief Operating Officer at Oppenheimer Capital in New York.

He is the Chairman of Edge Asset Management, Inc. Mr. McCaughan served as Trustee of Credit Suisse High Yield Bond Fund, Inc. Until March 31, 2002. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. Mr. McCaughan earned a degree in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge in England.
