Biography

Detail-oriented and compassionate professional transitioning from a successful career in journalism to veterinary medicine. I am leveraging my strong communication, research, and problem-solving skills, along with a deep passion for animal care, to make a meaningful contribution in a veterinary setting, with the goal of gaining admission to veterinary school within the next two years.

Prior to transitioning into veterinary medicine, I was a reporter in Washington, D.C. with over seven years of experience in covering federal politics and policy. I developed a passion for making complicated subjects accessible and relatable for every person, and creating real impact in the world. I exceled at digging for stories that nobody else was reporting and providing revelatory insights into a policy or a decision. I broke news and written in-depth stories on topics such as climate change, abortion, civil rights, drug pricing, and the federal response to Covid-19. I have also made appearances on various media outlets, including CNN, NBC News, MSNBC, SiriusXM, NPR affiliate KQED and Bloomberg TV.

I am an alumna of American University, where I earned a B.A. in journalism with a minor in Biology.
