PERSON: Marn’I Washington
Biography
A Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) official was suspended after they reportedly ordered relief workers to avoid helping homes with a ‘Trump sign,’ Fox News reported on Friday. This comes after The Daily Wire first cited ‘internal correspondence’ to report that a superviser ordered workers to bypass Trump supporters’ homes. The publication further added that a FEMA supervisor told workers to ‘avoid homes advertising Trump’ as they canvassed Lake Placid, Florida.
The publication identified the supervisor as Marn’I Washington.
Marn’I D Washington, according to openpayrolls.com, held one job at FEMA between 2021 and 2023. “Avoid homes advertising Trump,” she wrote in a “best practices” memo sent to employees, according to The Daily Wire.
“I thought we could go help and make a difference. When we got there we were told to discriminate against people. It’s almost unbelievable to think that somebody in the federal government would think that’s okay,” one of the workers was quoted as saying by the outlet.
