Shirley Washington joined KTVI in April on 2007 as an anchor/reporter for FOX 2 News. Shirley anchors FOX 2 News Weekend edition and also reports weekdays for FOX 2 News.

Shirley is a native St. Louisan and a graduate of Roosevelt High School. Go Rough Riders! Shirley graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism.

Prior to KTVI, Shirley was a manager in the public relations department at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. Shirley is an Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist, having excelled as an anchor/reporter at KDFW-TV, FOX 4 in Dallas, Texas for more than 7 years. Previous to FOX 4, Shirley worked at WAGA- TV in Atlanta, Georgia and WTVF-TV in Nashville, Tennessee.

Shirley is a published author. Her book “The Motherhood Club: Help, Hope and Inspiration from New Mothers for New Mothers” helps new mothers learn about various emotional, physical and psychological effects of mothering. Shirley’s book was included in Sally Jessy Raphael’s book club, The Red Eyeglass Series.

Shirley is married and lives with her family in St. Louis. She enjoys reading, writing, traveling and spending time with her family.
