Ryan joins the team as a statewide Capitol Correspondent, based at KXAN in Austin and reporting for more than a dozen stations across Texas. His work follows the Texas legislature and the biggest stories around the state from Amarillo to Brownsville. Before joining the bureau, he was a reporter and anchor for KAMC and KLBK News in Lubbock, where he focused heavily on West Texas politics and hosted the weekly political program “Talking Points.”

Ryan is a lifelong Texan from Houston and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with dual degrees in journalism and government.
