Patrick Phillippi is helping Amazon.com Inc. Settle into its new neighborhood as an engaged corporate citizen for Greater Washington. Prior to joining the e-commerce giant as a senior manager for community engagement, he led JPMorgan Chase’s efforts in wards 7 and 8 to expand the company’s social responsibility strategy in the region. Now, his focus is on HQ2 community efforts and his work includes supporting nonprofits’ efforts around racial justice, K-12 education, workforce development and sustainability. Earlier this year, Amazon was named the region’s biggest corporate philanthropist by the Washington Business Journal after it doled out $72.7 million to local nonprofits in 2022 under Phillippi’s watch.
