Anne Emerson is an Emmy award-winning network executive producer and writer with 20 years of experience in the investigative news and documentary field. Her career includes time spent overseas as the bureau producer for ABC News-Johannesburg during South Africa’s transition to democracy. In South Africa, she interviewed world figures including President Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Winnie Mandela and Sinn Fein party leader Gerry Adams. She travelled to war-torn countries to report on the Rwandan genocide and the Ebola virus outbreak in Kikwit, the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Anne went on to become a producer for ABC News/The Discovery Channel in the United States where she won an Emmy award for her three-part series documenting the trouble in our oceans. Her work on Discovery Channel’s live coverage of the “Mars Pathfinder” mission and a follow up series on the oceans were both nominated for Emmys.

Anne was the supervising producer and showrunner for CBS’ Parents’ Choice Award Winner Chicken Soup for the Soul’s Hidden Heroes. She has crisscrossed the country as a producer and a news gatherer for nearly all of the major network and cable channels including ABC, Food Network, Travel Channel, CBS’ The Rachel Ray Show, NBC, NFL, truTV, Bravo, Crime Watch Daily and A+E. She reports on a variety of stories, both in breaking live news and long-form magazine stories. Recent coverage includes ABC News’ 20/20: Otto Warmbier Investigation, the Orlando nightclub shooting, the Dylann Roof Trial, as well as in depth hurricane stories.
