Alex Mena has held several leadership positions throughout his 30-plus years as a journalist.He currently serves as the Executive Editor at the Miami Herald and el Nuevo Herald. Alex is the president of the South Florida Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. He also serves on the Florida Society of News Editors Board as Vice President and the Florida International University Media Board.During his time at the Herald, Alex has covered high school games, written features, worked as a designer, copy editor, assistant sports editor, deputy sports editor, night operations chief, news editor, senior sports editor, deputy managing editor and managing editor.
