Biography

Tim Greimel is currently serving out the remaining term in the House of Representatives after a special election in the 29th House District, which covers Pontiac and Auburn Hills.

Prior to joining the Legislature, Tim worked as an attorney in the field of labor, employment, and civil rights to make sure every worker has the right to find and keep a good job and to protect our hard-working citizens from unfair discrimination by their employers.

As a member of the Oakland County Commission beginning in 2007, Tim has negotiated the challenges of cities dealing with fewer resources and fought to provide better public safety for our community in the form of firefighters, EMTs, and police officers.

Tim - a former school board member for seven years and former board president - understands that the best investment Michigan can make to ensure its economic turnaround is to prepare our children for the challenges of finding good-paying jobs in a globally competitive marketplace. This will only come by giving our students every available tool to succeed in the classroom.

He has served as a board member for Transform Pontiac Now, Pontiac Youth Assistance and the Pontiac Veterans Memorial Committee. He has also been involved in the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce, the Auburn Hills Optimist Club and the Oakland County Veterans Group in addition to teaching Sunday School.

Tim received his B.A. in Economics and Political Science, a Master’s in Public Policy and a law degree from the University of Michigan.
