Rasmus Sebastian Altenburg Tantholdt (born 20 October 1973 in Aarhus ) is a Danish journalist.

Rasmus Tantholdt trained as a journalist from Denmark’s Journalisthøjskole in 2000 and has since worked at TV 2 . Since 2003 , he has been TV2 Nyhedernes ‘ correspondent in the most extreme conflict areas, especially in the Middle East - in recent years in Iraq . From 2009 also correspondent in the Afghan capital, Kabul , together with the other TV2 correspondents Ulla Terkelsen and Simi Jan. Tantholdt became one of the central figures in the so-called leak case , when Defense Minister Søren Gade’s spin doctor Jacob Wintherallegedly leaked confidential information to Tantholdt.

Privately, he formed a couple with Caroline Boserup , who hosted TV 2 Nyhederne at the time. They lived in Copenhagen and have a son Emil, born in 2005 . The couple married in 2005 and divorced again in 2007.

From 2010 to 2016 , he was married to Cecilie Beck .

In 2022, Rasmus Tantholdt received the Publicist Award from the Danish Publicist Club for his coverage of a number of wars. The publicist club justified the selection with the fact that he manages to be in the right place at the right time and include the human perspectives in his stories.
