After graduating high school Gary Rabine discovered his passion for paving driveways. The start of a family pushed his drive to succeed in this industry. He married Cheryl, in 1985 and Rabine Paving grew as more companies were started, and then more were acquired.

This growth was the result of building an amazing team with a strong focus on client satisfaction, innovation and a desire to be world class. There are now 11 companies in the Rabine Group. Rabine Paving and Rabine Paving America are known to pave more concrete and asphalt parking lots than any other company in America.

7 companies serve the facilities real estate industry in commercial Paving, Roofing, Doors and Docks and Snow Removal. 2 companies are technology businesses serving the Natural Gas industry, the Real Estate industry and Municipal industry.

Cheryl and Gary started the Rabine Group Foundation in 2007, Cheryl was the chair for the first 15 years. Their daughter Janelle now leads the Rabine Group Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization that invests in great causes serving children, elderly, veterans & homeless in the communities that the Rabine Group serves. All of the Rabine Group companies give a percentage of their profits to the foundation on an annual basis. Gary also started True Mentors with his co-founder Quinton James, an organization that recruits Exec Leaders and Seasoned Entrepreneurs to mentor younger aspiring leaders.

Gary’s passion for mentorship and inspiring others led him to start the podcast called DitchDigger CEO. This podcast, hosted by Gary and Quinton, interviews many of America’s business Titans, allowing them to share their Rags to Riches, only in America, success stories. DitchDigger CEO can be accessed through all podcast apps or Apple iTunes.

Gary’s amazing wife of 35 years, Cheryl , passed away in the fall of 2020 after a 52 month battle with brain cancer. Gary lives with his son Nik, in their home near one of America’s best golf courses ,Bull Valley GC. Gary’s other son Austin is now the CEO of The Rabine Group of companies, his daughter Janelle is the President of one and Nik has begun his skills training in Concrete & Asphalt construction. His daughter Jordain and son in law Gabe are great attorneys and they blessed Gary with 2 beautiful grandchildren Lincoln & Siena.

Gary enjoys staying active with working out, golf, wake surfing and practicing his Catholic Faith.

Gary’s next ambition is to win the Governors office in Illinois with a goal to make Illinois the greatest state in the middle of the greatest country in the world.
