Biography

Top market broadcast news journalist with 14 years of experience in branding, marketing and media relations who has the strong ability to manage multiple projects and a passion for teamwork and ensuring co-workers feel valued who has worked in newsrooms across the country.

While at KOIN TV in Portland, I launched the first-of-its-kind television series called Women Crush Wednesday to highlight local women empowering the community. It is consistently a top-ranked story online, generates viewer involvement and has been sponsored to create long-term awareness and positive brand associations.

I have anchored hours of continuous coverage on stories that garnered national attention including: a 41-day wildlife refuge takeover, oil train explosion, neighborhood gas blast, the 2016 presidential election riots that caused a million dollars in damage and historic snow storms that shutdown the city.

Every year, I lead live newscasts from the internationally-recognized Waterfront Blues Fest and spent days anchoring from Madras, Oregon - the country’s top destination to see the total solar eclipse. I also started KOIN 6 Unsolved to highlight local murders and was the first anchor to conduct Facebook Live chats.

My other journalistic credits include creating an award-winning cold case crime series, covering the University of Wisconsin Badger’s football team’s 2013 Rose Bowl appearance, the basketball team’s 2013 NCAA tournament run and Washington, D.C. trip with veterans to cover the Badger Honor Flight. I was also the only reporter to interview Lexington’s most infamous parent-killer in jail and contributed to reports about Minnesota’s 35W bridge collapse and the 2008 deadly floods there.
