Having showcased her ability for insightful coverage of politics, policy and the law, Alexandria Swoyer is taking her talents — back — to The Washington Times.
After a stint covering the 2016 presidential campaign and Capitol Hill for Breitbart News Network, Ms. Swoyer is returning to The Times as chief legal affairs reporter, covering the law, the federal and state court systems, civil liberties and the intersection between politics and the law. Before going to Breitbart, she worked as a correspondent and multimedia journalist for The Washington Times from 2013 to 2015.
“We’ve long been fans of Alex’s work, and it’s great to have her back where she belongs at The Washington Times,” said Stephen Dinan, deputy assistant managing editor for politics and congressional bureau chief. “From the courts to the halls of Congress, she’ll help The Times keep Washington honest.”
After earning an undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Missouri, Ms. Swoyer earned a law degree from the Ave Maria School of Law in Naples, Florida, in 2013. Before entering journalism she served as an intern in the Fort Bend County (Texas) District Attorney’s Office and was a law clerk for the Navjar Law Firm in Houston.
Her work for The Times, Breitbart and KONU in Columbia, Missouri, has been featured on the Drudge Report, Sean Hannity’s Fox News program, several local Washington, D.C., television stations, “Dateline” and “48 Hours,” among many more outlets.
