Biography
Tara Palmeri is a reporter and Playbook Plus columnist for POLITICO based in Brussels, Belgium where she covers European Union politics.
Prior to joining POLITICO, Palmeri reported on New York City politics for the New York Post. She started at the newspaper in 2010 as a reporter for “Page Six,” NYC’s premier gossip column. Before joining the paper she helmed the Washington Examiner’s “Yeas & Nays” on people, power and politics in the U.S. capital. While at the paper, Palmeri grew web traffic to the column’s webpage from approximately 25,000 views per month to well over 1 million per month until she was snatched up by the New York Post. The John Edwards trial, the 2012 Republican and Democratic National Conventions and the Newtown, Connecticut massacre are among the high profile assignments she has covered for the New York Post.
Palmeri started her career in journalism in 2008 as a broadcast intern for Voice of America while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications at American University in Washington, D.C. She graduated summa cum laude in December 2008 and was hired shortly after by CNN where she assisted live production, pitched and produced T.V. packages and created a daily podcast for Wolf Blitzer’s “The Situation Room.”
She has made television appearances on CNBC, MSNBC, Fox News Channel and CBS, and has reported video packages for nypost.com. Palmeri’s hobbies include tennis, skiing and practicing yoga. Originally from New York, she now lives in Brussels.
