Biography

Elise Jordan is an American journalist, political speechwriter and commentator. She served as a director for communications in the National Security Council from 2008-09. She also worked in the White House Office of Presidential Speechwriting, at the U.S. Embassy, Baghdad and for the Commanding General’s Strategic Advisory Group at the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) headquarters in Kabul, Afghanistan, and was a speechwriter for Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. It was announced on a special edition of hardball on MSNBC after the Republican Debate on 1/14/2016 that Elise Jordan is a MSNBC Political Analyst.

Jordan married journalist Michael Hastings on May 21, 2011, in Hernando, Mississippi.

Michael Hastings died in a single-vehicle car crash on June 18, 2013. Due to Hastings ongoing investigations of CIA chief John Brennan and previous critical investigations of other well known figures, there was speculation of foul play. Jordan played a role in clearing up speculations about her husband’s death as being nothing more than a “tragic accident”.
