Biography

Molly Ball is a staff writer for The Atlantic, where she covers national politics. She was awarded the 2012 Toner Prize for Excellence in Political Reporting for her presidential campaign coverage.

Ball joined The Atlantic in September 2011 from Politico. Previously, she was a reporter for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Las Vegas Sun. She has also reported for newspapers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Cambodia, as well as The New York Times and The Washington Post. She is a graduate of Yale University and was a 2009 recipient of the Knight-Wallace journalism fellowship at the University of Michigan. In 2007, she won $100,000 on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.”

Ball grew up in Idaho and Colorado. She lives in Virginia with her husband and two children.
