Starting tomorrow: "MediaIntel: AM Wrap" — your daily media briefing [& new features!]

10/21/2026

Media colleagues,

In our modern world of infinite content, it’s increasingly challenging staying on top of the news trends scattered across different parts of the media ecosystem. That’s the problem we’re solving with our new morning newsletter, “MediaIntel: AM Wrap,” which launches tomorrow to all Grabien users, free.

In one quick briefing, you’ll receive a summary of … basically the entire news industry:

  • Late-night comedy — the monologues, the targets, the guests
  • Print — the top articles from the nation’s top papers, linked
  • TV news — a full-day rollup of the biggest news networks
  • Alternative media — left, middle, & right, side by side
  • Talk radio & podcasts — what drove the conversation
  • Top Grabien clips on X — ranked by the numbers
  • Coming Up — News events on the docket for the day ahead (via our EventsHorizon page)

Every edition covers the previous 24 hours’ of news coverage, so Sunday’s “late night” section is limited to Saturday Night Live, and Monday’s edition includes a wrap of the Sunday morning news shows.

If you want to dive deeper into any of the news programming summarized, everything is hyperlinked to their respective locations in Grabien’s databases.

The newsletter will always be free for Grabien enterprise users. After the first month, it will become a paid newsletter ($15/month) for non-enterprise subscribers.

It lands tomorrow, and every morning after. If it’s not for you, there’s always an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every edition.

And now, a few updates we’ve recently made to Grabien:

  1. Dark mode. By default, the website tries to detect the system scheme and enables light or dark mode according to your system settings. Users can also manually select between light and dark mode.
  2. Multiple LiveShare restreaming targets. In addition to restreaming to multiple services simultaneously, users can now set up default restreaming targets on the profile page, and these settings will be applied to all new LiveShares.
  3. Saving search requests in banks. If users often perform a search with the same conditions, they can save the search parameters and return to them in a click. (See the new button below the Apply and Clear buttons.)
  4. Automatic changing of default video/audio format. Many of our users do not know that you can set a default file format for clips and select it in clippers every time. Now, if a user selects the same format in clippers three times, this format will be set as the default for that user.
  5. If LiveShare was recorded as several files, due to a stream interruption, for example, a user will see an "Other recordings" link on the LiveShare page. This link will open a table where the user can switch between all files recorded for this LiveShare.
  6. Staff can now specify the owner's username when uploading files to NewsBase. This allows staff to upload full recordings to NewsBase for users. Users can see all their recordings on the page that can be opened via the "My recordings" button on the LiveShare page.
  7. The "Clips" link on NewsBase, RadioBank, and PodBank pages now displays the number of not only direct clips from a recording, but also second-level derivative clips (i.e., clips created from clips of that recording). By clicking on this link, users can see all first-level and second-level clips.

That’s all for now.

Happy clipping!

Tom Elliott, Grabien
