Introducing: Grabien Premium content, feat. FedNet (+ new programming!)

01/14/2026

Dear, media colleagues —

Today we're thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting partnership with Capitol Hill's leading broadcasting service, FedNet. Our tech team has been working hard over the last year getting everything working to the high standard our clients have come to expect. And now that this initial development is complete, we’re thrilled to offer Grabien clients access to exclusive, HD broadcast feeds of Capitol Hill news programming.

For those who don't know, FedNet has been operating as a private sector C-SPAN since 1993. They offer major media organizations high resolution HD broadcast feeds, and transcripts, from the most important speeches, press conferences, and hearings happening every day on The Hill. (And completed FedNet broadcasts are searchable/viewable/clippable in the NewsBase.)

For Grabien clients, this means access to more news events than ever before. Even better is FedNet's commitment to providing uninterrupted feeds without distractions like lower-thirds, commercial breaks, or commentary. Exactly what our clients are increasingly looking for.

Historically, such clips could only be purchased from licensing agencies like Getty for several hundred dollars per clip. But as part of our mission to democratize the news industry, we're making these feeds available at a significant discount.

Which brings us to our new Premium Tier

Grabien Premium is a new exclusive content tier, featuring news feeds unavailable online/TV/any other public source. Clipping these feeds requires PremiumCredits, a new credit system that functions like our existing credits for images/video downloads/etc.

A breakdown of FedNet pricing:

  • Clips cost one PremiumCredit per minute of content, so a 3-minute FedNet clip costs 3 PremiumCredits.

In volume, PremiumCredits can be purchased at discounted rates:

  • 10 PremiumCredits for $100.00
  • 50 PremiumCredits for $450.00 (10 percent discount)
  • 100 premium credits for $850.00 (15 percent discount)
  • 500 premium credits for $4,000.00 (20 percent discount)

**The max clip length is 6 minutes.

In the first year, Grabien enterprise clients in the PR, Publisher Pro, Producer Plus tiers will receive 5 monthly consumable PremiumCredits (which, like other Grabien monthly consumables, do not accumulate). Additional PremiumCredits can either be built into accounts' monthly allotments, or via a one-time purchase of a PremiumCredits pack (which do not expire).

As an added incentive for helping us get this program off the ground, please note that the money PremiumCredits generate will directly fund an expansion of FedNet's daily array of broadcasts. With a bit of luck, we hope to support up to 10 simultaneous feeds in the months ahead, growing until every newsworthy congressional hearing is made available live, in real time, for clipping.

As we move forward, we’ll also move backwards. FedNet has probably the largest private library of congressional news events anywhere, dating back to 1994. Over the years ahead, Grabien will be partnering with FedNet to digitize these archives and incrementally add them to our databases for future research & clipping.

As you can see, this has been a massive undertaking. But now the real work begins. To help ensure the continued growth of exclusive content feeds, we earnestly appreciate your support getting these new products to market. Please help us spread the word, and don’t hesitate to send us feedback/suggestions.

Please note: PremiumCredits are not being automatically applied to enterprise accounts. If you have a PR/Publisher Pro/Producer Plus enterprise account, contact us to have PremiumCredits applied to your account.

And before closing out, just a quick update on some new programming additions:
