New Feature: Researching Word Counts in Clips, TV
11/16/2018
If you’ve ever wanted to know how many times a news network used a particular word, or expression, Grabien now makes that easy. This tool also works for our database of pre-edited news clips.
Here’s how it works:
- Go the NewsBase,
- Enter your search term in the transcript field (if you want to search for a prase and not just a single word — such as climate change, put it in double quotes, like “climate change”), then choose the networks you want to search, and the date range.
- Click the button the bottom right under “Clear” that looks like a graph.
That’s it!
With this tool, you can see how one network, or news program, is covering a story versus another, track how coverage is changing over time, etc.
If you’d like to run similar searches for just pre-edited news clips, go to the ClipsBank, and repeat the same steps (again, click the graph button at the bottom right).
Thanks & Happy Friday,
Grabien
