KARL That s Connecticut ░░░░░░░░ Chris Murphy He spent ░░░░░░░░ straight hours on the ░░░░░░░░ floor in week demanding ░░░░░░░░ Republicans hold votes on ░░░░░░░░ control measures and Senator ░░░░░░░░ joins us here right ░░░░░░░░ BEGIN VIDEOTAPE KARL So ░░░░░░░░ Murphy you are getting ░░░░░░░░ votes on Monday tomorrow ░░░░░░░░ are you going to ░░░░░░░░ to look those families ░░░░░░░░ the eye once again ░░░░░░░░ tell them that you ░░░░░░░░ failed Because those things ░░░░░░░░ those are not going ░░░░░░░░ pass none of them ░░░░░░░░ Well listen we ll ░░░░░░░░ work hard over the ░░░░░░░░ on the bill that ░░░░░░░░ stop people on the ░░░░░░░░ watchlist from getting guns ░░░░░░░░ admit that the background ░░░░░░░░ bill is going to ░░░░░░░░ tough to get 60 ░░░░░░░░ on but we still ░░░░░░░░ hope that we can ░░░░░░░░ Republicans to support the ░░░░░░░░ stopping terrorists from getting ░░░░░░░░ But listen I think ░░░░░░░░ important happened last week ░░░░░░░░ wasn t just that ░░░░░░░░ senators came to the ░░░░░░░░ and supported my effort ░░░░░░░░ get these votes but ░░░░░░░░ were millions of people ░░░░░░░░ across the country who ░░░░░░░░ up and who joined ░░░░░░░░ effort And what we ░░░░░░░░ is ultimately the only ░░░░░░░░ that you win this ░░░░░░░░ is by building a ░░░░░░░░ infrastructure around the country ░░░░░░░░ rivals that of the ░░░░░░░░ lobby And so I ░░░░░░░░ still hopeful that we ░░░░░░░░ going to be able ░░░░░░░░ get votes I know ░░░░░░░░ are also some compromise ░░░░░░░░ happening that may bear ░░░░░░░░ But in the final ░░░░░░░░ what may be most ░░░░░░░░ is that our filibuster ░░░░░░░░ galvanize an entire country ░░░░░░░░ this issue.”
