MSNBC’s Ruhle Confronts Sen. Brown: Husband of the Dem Rep. Took $5.6 Million in a PPP Loan

RUSH TRANSCRIPT RUHLE I ░░░░░░░░ to ask you about ░░░░░░░░ This is the small ░░░░░░░░ loan program in the ░░░░░░░░ A R E S ░░░░░░░░ You personally had demanded ░░░░░░░░ oversight but we re ░░░░░░░░ getting any Yesterday we ░░░░░░░░ Brad Parscale his company ░░░░░░░░ the money We re ░░░░░░░░ private jet companies are ░░░░░░░░ it and then we ░░░░░░░░ the sba and the ░░░░░░░░ put out new guidance ░░░░░░░░ any loan under 2 ░░░░░░░░ right there are over ░░░░░░░░ million of those out ░░░░░░░░ are not going to ░░░░░░░░ pursued or investigated by ░░░░░░░░ treasury or the sba ░░░░░░░░ they don t have ░░░░░░░░ bandwidth to do it ░░░░░░░░ is basically giving license ░░░░░░░░ fraud because they still ░░░░░░░░ t given us any ░░░░░░░░ the tax I D ░░░░░░░░ There is zero transparency ░░░░░░░░ this BROWN Yeah you ░░░░░░░░ done a lot of ░░░░░░░░ on this Stephanie It ░░░░░░░░ really important and that ░░░░░░░░ the importance of a ░░░░░░░░ media in this country ░░░░░░░░ the inspector general when friends I ░░░░░░░░ that But this president ░░░░░░░░ taken it to new ░░░░░░░░ with his family his ░░░░░░░░ bodies He s put ░░░░░░░░ of them he s ░░░░░░░░ civil servants who have ░░░░░░░░ good work for government ░░░░░░░░ the years Fired them ░░░░░░░░ put in place political ░░░░░░░░ like some of these ░░░░░░░░ doing this program And ░░░░░░░░ s troubling because we ░░░░░░░░ that far too much ░░░░░░░░ is already going to ░░░░░░░░ big guys I was ░░░░░░░░ on a call with ░░░░░░░░ group of people and ░░░░░░░░ re waiting to hear ░░░░░░░░ the big guys always ░░░░░░░░ their way The big ░░░░░░░░ are taken care of ░░░░░░░░ biggest banks and biggest ░░░░░░░░ That s not what ░░░░░░░░ program is supposed to ░░░░░░░░ They ve failed to ░░░░░░░░ it the way they ░░░░░░░░ it to be implemented ░░░░░░░░ a way that will ░░░░░░░░ jobs and bring jobs ░░░░░░░░ RUHLE But sir with ░░░░░░░░ due respect Democrats and ░░░░░░░░ signed off on the ░░░░░░░░ Act And you ve ░░░░░░░░ Democrats who are doing ░░░░░░░░ same A sitting congresswoman ░░░░░░░░ Lee in the state ░░░░░░░░ Nevada her husband runs ░░░░░░░░ public company a casino ░░░░░░░░ House Casinos You know ░░░░░░░░ they took 5 6 ░░░░░░░░ in a PPP loan ░░░░░░░░ I know you can ░░░░░░░░ control that but when ░░░░░░░░ read headlines like that ░░░░░░░░ is when the American ░░░░░░░░ says We don t ░░░░░░░░ the government Where is ░░░░░░░░ government as far as ░░░░░░░░ goes What are Democrats ░░░░░░░░ to do to ensure ░░░░░░░░ s more transparency BROWN ░░░░░░░░ we re as I ░░░░░░░░ we want somebody in ░░░░░░░░ we want an inspector ░░░░░░░░ The majority Mitch McConnell ░░░░░░░░ his majority They always ░░░░░░░░ at impeachment look at ░░░░░░░░ whole host of other ░░░░░░░░ They always do what ░░░░░░░░ tells him to do ░░░░░░░░ few exceptions rare exceptions ░░░░░░░░ few exceptions They are ░░░░░░░░ to put an inspector ░░░░░░░░ in power to oversee ░░░░░░░░ Not somebody that s ░░░░░░░░ a long history of ░░░░░░░░ the right thing and ░░░░░░░░ taxpayers but somebody who ░░░░░░░░ came from President Trump ░░░░░░░░ office I know that ░░░░░░░░ in my party sometimes ░░░░░░░░ things too I know ░░░░░░░░ it s not only ░░░░░░░░ Republican thing but I ░░░░░░░░ who is in power ░░░░░░░░ I know the reputation ░░░░░░░░ so many of the ░░░░░░░░ the President has brought ░░░░░░░░ board I know the ░░░░░░░░ s family has benefited ░░░░░░░░ so much that this ░░░░░░░░ does and so much ░░░░░░░░ what his administration does ░░░░░░░░ we re doing all ░░░░░░░░ can to try to ░░░░░░░░ this working with media ░░░░░░░░ to expose it trying ░░░░░░░░ do oversight We will ░░░░░░░░ Except sir except sir ░░░░░░░░ sir you have got ░░░░░░░░ Democratic congresswoman whose husband ░░░░░░░░ the money and we ░░░░░░░░ that because the media ░░░░░░░░ it right So we ░░░░░░░░ it s a problem ░░░░░░░░ you can always you ░░░░░░░░ the media or anybody ░░░░░░░░ politics can always find ░░░░░░░░ who has abused the ░░░░░░░░ on both sides It ░░░░░░░░ t mean that you ░░░░░░░░ t focus the spotlight ░░░░░░░░ everybody But the corruption ░░░░░░░░ far and away more ░░░░░░░░ Administration than it is ░░░░░░░░ or two or three ░░░░░░░░ or Senate members And ░░░░░░░░ can have our attention ░░░░░░░░ or diverted into that ░░░░░░░░ m not here to ░░░░░░░░ about that I m ░░░░░░░░ to do my job ░░░░░░░░ try to do oversight ░░░░░░░░ this from happening anywhere ░░░░░░░░ the big guys always ░░░░░░░░ better with this government ░░░░░░░░ with the Trump Administration ░░░░░░░░ big guys have always ░░░░░░░░ better a lot of ░░░░░░░░ I ve never been ░░░░░░░░ of those that has ░░░░░░░░ that in my party ░░░░░░░░ people in my own ░░░░░░░░ do that But don ░░░░░░░░ lose the focus here ░░░░░░░░ what the big guys ░░░░░░░░ Treasury Secretary the Labor ░░░░░░░░ the President the Vice ░░░░░░░░ are doing the failures ░░░░░░░░ everything from getting protective ░░░░░░░░ to scaling up testing ░░░░░░░░ contact tracing and all ░░░░░░░░ Those are the big ░░░░░░░░ We ve got to ░░░░░░░░ help to small business ░░░░░░░░ a doubt.”
