RUSH TRANSCRIPT Up to ░░░░░░░░ nerves my friend David ░░░░░░░░ Miller in New York ░░░░░░░░ all of that Now ░░░░░░░░ of the big issues ░░░░░░░░ kept coming up again ░░░░░░░░ Lee was mentioning it ░░░░░░░░ was I this need ░░░░░░░░ testing A lot of ░░░░░░░░ experts in the medical ░░░░░░░░ have said you re ░░░░░░░░ to need a lot ░░░░░░░░ before you start opening ░░░░░░░░ lot more doctor with ░░░░░░░░ now from the San ░░░░░░░░ center of health internal ░░░░░░░░ there Now doctor I ░░░░░░░░ reading recently in interview ░░░░░░░░ had where you said ░░░░░░░░ isn t only a ░░░░░░░░ idea it s necessary ░░░░░░░░ re worried about the ░░░░░░░░ of widespread testing what ░░░░░░░░ you mean by that ░░░░░░░░ Neil everybody wants to ░░░░░░░░ our economy back up ░░░░░░░░ running get people back ░░░░░░░░ work but we ve ░░░░░░░░ a responsibility to make ░░░░░░░░ that we do this ░░░░░░░░ a safeway and we ░░░░░░░░ not just ramping everything ░░░░░░░░ up at once and ░░░░░░░░ the lives of potentially ░░░░░░░░ of people As we ░░░░░░░░ know with this new ░░░░░░░░ we are learning about ░░░░░░░░ as we go we ░░░░░░░░ trying to put new ░░░░░░░░ and data as much ░░░░░░░░ possible and base our ░░░░░░░░ on findings and evidence ░░░░░░░░ reopening strategy needs to ░░░░░░░░ balance of course the ░░░░░░░░ objectives with our public ░░░░░░░░ objectives of this country ░░░░░░░░ it s critical Neil ░░░░░░░░ we get this right ░░░░░░░░ have the proper infrastructure ░░░░░░░░ place with testing capacity ░░░░░░░░ know that asymptomatic people ░░░░░░░░ spread this virus so ░░░░░░░░ many ways it s ░░░░░░░░ invisible Coronavirus and so ░░░░░░░░ s my widespread testing ░░░░░░░░ so critical and we ░░░░░░░░ need of course reporting ░░░░░░░░ the ability to trace ░░░░░░░░ isolate cases to do ░░░░░░░░ right And because as ░░░░░░░░ know American lives are ░░░░░░░░ risk You know what ░░░░░░░░ will say is that ░░░░░░░░ capacity isn t where ░░░░░░░░ needs to be anywhere ░░░░░░░░ this country Most Americans ░░░░░░░░ example don t know ░░░░░░░░ they themselves are sick ░░░░░░░░ need to get tested ░░░░░░░░ I call my doctor ░░░░░░░░ do I go to ░░░░░░░░ tested How do I ░░░░░░░░ those results I sure ░░░░░░░░ t know those answers ░░░░░░░░ myself and my family ░░░░░░░░ Well you know doctor ░░░░░░░░ lot of states are ░░░░░░░░ to ease up on ░░░░░░░░ lockdown provisions Bill Hemmer ░░░░░░░░ just talking to the ░░░░░░░░ of Ohio who has ░░░░░░░░ plan eventually to do ░░░░░░░░ even some of the ░░░░░░░░ that have put that ░░░░░░░░ until at least may ░░░░░░░░ are working on plans ░░░░░░░░ they can do this ░░░░░░░░ a staggered fashion the ░░░░░░░░ has a three phase ░░░░░░░░ that addresses at the ░░░░░░░░ way are you saying ░░░░░░░░ now with the way ░░░░░░░░ stand right now it ░░░░░░░░ too soon to be ░░░░░░░░ any of this Well ░░░░░░░░ m saying in order ░░░░░░░░ enact that approach we ░░░░░░░░ to have three things ░░░░░░░░ place we need to ░░░░░░░░ the data about numbers ░░░░░░░░ cases so increase and ░░░░░░░░ testing capacity is really ░░░░░░░░ We don t yet ░░░░░░░░ that anywhere The capacity ░░░░░░░░ treat patients within the ░░░░░░░░ care system and then ░░░░░░░░ enough ppe so that ░░░░░░░░ care workers can safely ░░░░░░░░ their Jobs And then ░░░░░░░░ the ability to trace ░░░░░░░░ contacts of those who ░░░░░░░░ infected They need data ░░░░░░░░ evidence to drive all ░░░░░░░░ decisions not an arbitrary ░░░░░░░░ and you know what ░░░░░░░░ be disastrous is if ░░░░░░░░ state doesn t have ░░░░░░░░ clear sense of who ░░░░░░░░ sick and where they ░░░░░░░░ and to do this ░░░░░░░░ need to be running ░░░░░░░░ to millions of tests ░░░░░░░░ week which isn t ░░░░░░░░ This is dependent on ░░░░░░░░ like a resilient supply ░░░░░░░░ affecting supply so we ░░░░░░░░ run out of the ░░░░░░░░ you need to test ░░░░░░░░ else it will hold ░░░░░░░░ the process unfortunately we ░░░░░░░░ t there yet in ░░░░░░░░ of our testing capacity ░░░░░░░░ think we will get ░░░░░░░░ that s the goal ░░░░░░░░ we definitely have a ░░░░░░░░ to go Neil All ░░░░░░░░ Doctor thank you very ░░░░░░░░ a
