Gregory Meeks: ‘Mr. Sanders Has Been on the Wrong Side of the Gun Issue’

RUSH TRANSCRIPT COSTELLO Still ░░░░░░░░ the black lives matter ░░░░░░░░ at Bill Clinton and ░░░░░░░░ Clinton chose to engage ░░░░░░░░ the weekend he said ░░░░░░░░ wished he hadn t ░░░░░░░░ that Do you think ░░░░░░░░ Clinton should have gone ░░░░░░░░ than that or MEEKS ░░░░░░░░ I think Bill Clinton ░░░░░░░░ not have to but ░░░░░░░░ think individuals because when ░░░░░░░░ think about what took ░░░░░░░░ and what was taking ░░░░░░░░ in the 90s Mr ░░░░░░░░ voted for the bill ░░░░░░░░ was not there at ░░░░░░░░ time but there were ░░░░░░░░ that voted for the ░░░░░░░░ because of the high ░░░░░░░░ rate going on at ░░░░░░░░ time A lot of ░░░░░░░░ was in the African ░░░░░░░░ community when those guns ░░░░░░░░ are being used 33 ░░░░░░░░ million Americans die because ░░░░░░░░ guns Mr Sanders has ░░░░░░░░ on the wrong side ░░░░░░░░ the gun issue That ░░░░░░░░ a problem If you ░░░░░░░░ at the crimes that ░░░░░░░░ been committed let s ░░░░░░░░ about Mr Sanders when ░░░░░░░░ is defending the gun ░░░░░░░░ and the gun manufacturers ░░░░░░░░ Putting aside senator Sanders ░░░░░░░░ a minute Are the ░░░░░░░░ lives matters protesters wrong ░░░░░░░░ Well if in fact ░░░░░░░░ are saying that the ░░░░░░░░ administration took advantage and ░░░░░░░░ not advantageous for the ░░░░░░░░ Americans of the 90s ░░░░░░░░ they are wrong I ░░░░░░░░ say they were not ░░░░░░░░ then I was there ░░░░░░░░ I lived it I ░░░░░░░░ through it I was ░░░░░░░░ the state legislature at ░░░░░░░░ time I know times ░░░░░░░░ much better in the ░░░░░░░░ than it ever had ░░░░░░░░ I know when times ░░░░░░░░ wrong is when we ░░░░░░░░ to have a Republican ░░░░░░░░ in 2000 and we ░░░░░░░░ that for eight years ░░░░░░░░ six of that with ░░░░░░░░ majority Senate and house ░░░░░░░░ was Republican And I ░░░░░░░░ that Hillary Clinton was ░░░░░░░░ there fighting the try ░░░░░░░░ reverse that She was ░░░░░░░░ for Democrats to get ░░░░░░░░ elected so we could ░░░░░░░░ back the majority and ░░░░░░░░ back the presidency I ░░░░░░░░ Bernie Sanders was not ░░░░░░░░ of the big individuals ░░░░░░░░ out around the country ░░░░░░░░ Democrats to get us ░░░░░░░░ so we can win ░░░░░░░░ the majority and dictate ░░░░░░░░ the policies of the ░░░░░░░░ States We went backwards ░░░░░░░░ these eight years We ░░░░░░░░ not going backwards in ░░░░░░░░ 90s when Clinton was ░░░░░░░░ president We were moving ░░░░░░░░ We had a regression ░░░░░░░░ those eight years and ░░░░░░░░ when we had Barack ░░░░░░░░ elected we started moving ░░░░░░░░ again Clinton was part ░░░░░░░░ that administration Barack Obama ░░░░░░░░ confidence in her and ░░░░░░░░ ability and we ll ░░░░░░░░ the movement forward that ░░░░░░░░ Obama has taken us ░░░░░░░░ 2008 COSTELLO All right ░░░░░░░░ have to leave it ░░░░░░░░ Thank you so much ░░░░░░░░ joining me this morning.”
