CNN’s Tapper: ‘Enraging’ That People in San Francisco Aren’t Taking Coronavirus Seriously

TAPPER And look I ░░░░░░░░ the Mayor said to ░░░░░░░░ that people are allowed ░░░░░░░░ they need to go ░░░░░░░░ and go for a ░░░░░░░░ and get a breath ░░░░░░░░ fresh air they re ░░░░░░░░ to as long as ░░░░░░░░ social distance But that ░░░░░░░░ not what we just ░░░░░░░░ We saw people going ░░░░░░░░ jogs people going about ░░░░░░░░ life as if it ░░░░░░░░ normal We re being ░░░░░░░░ by the Centers for ░░░░░░░░ Control and the National ░░░░░░░░ of Health that this ░░░░░░░░ not normal First of ░░░░░░░░ we see a whole ░░░░░░░░ of people here who ░░░░░░░░ not distancing They re ░░░░░░░░ hands and walking down ░░░░░░░░ street and you know ░░░░░░░░ I d say bravo ░░░░░░░░ this is this is ░░░░░░░░ kind of enraging The ░░░░░░░░ of San Francisco or ░░░░░░░░ shouldn t say the ░░░░░░░░ but many people in ░░░░░░░░ Francisco have clearly not ░░░░░░░░ the message GUPTA Right ░░░░░░░░ you know look I ░░░░░░░░ t relish the decisions ░░░░░░░░ have to get made ░░░░░░░░ and the recommendations or ░░░░░░░░ even mandates that need ░░░░░░░░ get made But all ░░░░░░░░ can say is you ░░░░░░░░ this virus is spreading ░░░░░░░░ the country And Jake ░░░░░░░░ ve known me a ░░░░░░░░ time I m not ░░░░░░░░ who likes to be ░░░░░░░░ or shout these things ░░░░░░░░ the roof It s ░░░░░░░░ not my nature But ░░░░░░░░ know what needs to ░░░░░░░░ done The government knows ░░░░░░░░ needs to be done ░░░░░░░░ health officials know what ░░░░░░░░ to be done It ░░░░░░░░ not happening right now ░░░░░░░░ I applaud the change ░░░░░░░░ tone I applaud the ░░░░░░░░ with which this is ░░░░░░░░ taken at the White ░░░░░░░░ and a lot of ░░░░░░░░ comments that came from ░░░░░░░░ White House But you ░░░░░░░░ we re not seeing ░░░░░░░░ translate into the action ░░░░░░░░ is necessary right now ░░░░░░░░ just want to be ░░░░░░░░ clear on this because ░░░░░░░░ ve been talking about ░░░░░░░░ almost since the beginning ░░░░░░░░ the year We ve ░░░░░░░░ talking about the testing ░░░░░░░░ ve been talking about ░░░░░░░░ need for hospital preparedness ░░░░░░░░ ve been talking about ░░░░░░░░ need for social distancing ░░░░░░░░ you know I don ░░░░░░░░ think any of those ░░░░░░░░ have been done yet ░░░░░░░░ We re still way ░░░░░░░░ on testing It s ░░░░░░░░ at all clear to ░░░░░░░░ that hospitals are prepared ░░░░░░░░ what s about to ░░░░░░░░ And I think given ░░░░░░░░ and the different sorts ░░░░░░░░ you know patchwork of ░░░░░░░░ around the country people ░░░░░░░░ aren t taking this ░░░░░░░░ They re going out ░░░░░░░░ buying things sometimes even ░░░░░░░░ things for their home ░░░░░░░░ they don t understand ░░░░░░░░ think fundamentally what is ░░░░░░░░ with this virus right ░░░░░░░░ Maybe because the numbers ░░░░░░░░ so far behind maybe ░░░░░░░░ we re behind the ░░░░░░░░ I don t know ░░░░░░░░ it is I ve ░░░░░░░░ seen anything quite like ░░░░░░░░ I don t think ░░░░░░░░ has but we are ░░░░░░░░ re not doing what ░░░░░░░░ to be done right ░░░░░░░░
