WOODRUFF I think you ░░░░░░░░ see that as they ░░░░░░░░ standing there today at ░░░░░░░░ Supreme Court There may ░░░░░░░░ have been disagreements that ░░░░░░░░ but there certainly are ░░░░░░░░ politically David over what ░░░░░░░░ going to happen now ░░░░░░░░ president says he s ░░░░░░░░ to nominate someone The ░░░░░░░░ Republican leadership is saying ░░░░░░░░ we re not going ░░░░░░░░ confirm them We may ░░░░░░░░ even consider BROOKS Yes ░░░░░░░░ of course they should ░░░░░░░░ He is president And ░░░░░░░░ Constitution says the president ░░░░░░░░ and the Constitution is ░░░░░░░░ to put rules around ░░░░░░░░ struggles for power John ░░░░░░░░ was nominated by John ░░░░░░░░ like after the election ░░░░░░░░ already happened And so ░░░░░░░░ think it s totally ░░░░░░░░ And the Republicans are ░░░░░░░░ to probably get away ░░░░░░░░ not doing anything And ░░░░░░░░ me what it will ░░░░░░░░ and I don t ░░░░░░░░ the effect of this ░░░░░░░░ will polarize the bases ░░░░░░░░ will create more conflict ░░░░░░░░ will elevate the social ░░░░░░░░ on the Republican side ░░░░░░░░ will elevate campaign finance ░░░░░░░░ the Democratic side And ░░░░░░░░ it will probably have ░░░░░░░░ polarizing effect on the ░░░░░░░░ If the candidacies are ░░░░░░░░ it would probably help ░░░░░░░░ Cruz and a Sanders ░░░░░░░░ of the issues that ░░░░░░░░ get elevated WOODRUFF Less ░░░░░░░░ 30 seconds SHIELDS Oh ░░░░░░░░ think Senator McConnell could ░░░░░░░░ have been trying to ░░░░░░░░ to the restive restless ░░░░░░░░ Republican primary voters who ░░░░░░░░ so disappointed in the ░░░░░░░░ in Congress that they ░░░░░░░░ they haven t overturned ░░░░░░░░ have been rolled by ░░░░░░░░ He was going to ░░░░░░░░ out Before the body ░░░░░░░░ cold before condolences were ░░░░░░░░ to the family he ░░░░░░░░ that there would be ░░░░░░░░ made no difference whom ░░░░░░░░ president nominated It was ░░░░░░░░ he got a number ░░░░░░░░ Republicans in tough races ░░░░░░░░ follow him I mean ░░░░░░░░ Ayotte in New Hampshire ░░░░░░░░ Portman in Ohio Senator ░░░░░░░░ in Wisconsin They re ░░░░░░░░ they made a big ░░░░░░░░ That is not the ░░░░░░░░ tradition And I think ░░░░░░░░ was a misstep politically ░░░░░░░░ And you get the ░░░░░░░░ word.”
