BLITZER Football player for ░░░░░░░░ were to have sat ░░░░░░░░ this coming Saturday s ░░░░░░░░ it could have cost ░░░░░░░░ university 1 million alone ░░░░░░░░ that for that game ░░░░░░░░ s bring in Stephanie ░░░░░░░░ an associate professor at ░░░░░░░░ University of Missouri She ░░░░░░░░ joining us now live ░░░░░░░░ Columbia So what s ░░░░░░░░ reaction professor to the ░░░░░░░░ s resignation SHONEKAN I ░░░░░░░░ elated I am thrilled ░░░░░░░░ the students are heard ░░░░░░░░ think that this is ░░░░░░░░ step in what will ░░░░░░░░ be a pretty long ░░░░░░░░ But this is this ░░░░░░░░ all this is all ░░░░░░░░ good thing in the ░░░░░░░░ that it is signaling ░░░░░░░░ our students that they ░░░░░░░░ they that they mean ░░░░░░░░ lot to us That ░░░░░░░░ re that they re ░░░░░░░░ they re their thoughts ░░░░░░░░ their their concerns are ░░░░░░░░ to us as well ░░░░░░░░ this is all indecipherable ░░░░░░░░ How did things get ░░░░░░░░ bad professor SHONEKAN You ░░░░░░░░ this is what we ░░░░░░░░ with the football team ░░░░░░░░ what we ve seen ░░░░░░░░ semester is just not ░░░░░░░░ few episodes in a ░░░░░░░░ in a long line ░░░░░░░░ events that happened over ░░░░░░░░ last I ve been ░░░░░░░░ for about four and ░░░░░░░░ half years and there ░░░░░░░░ been tension in all ░░░░░░░░ that time I think ░░░░░░░░ the football players it ░░░░░░░░ brought it to national ░░░░░░░░ which is which is ░░░░░░░░ But students have been ░░░░░░░░ been passionate about this ░░░░░░░░ a long time and ░░░░░░░░ think most recently the ░░░░░░░░ was last year when ░░░░░░░░ Brown was killed in ░░░░░░░░ our students realized that ░░░░░░░░ they ve been feeling ░░░░░░░░ is linked to to ░░░░░░░░ happened just just down ░░░░░░░░ road And so they ░░░░░░░░ started agitating for for ░░░░░░░░ on campus I should ░░░░░░░░ the agitation has all ░░░░░░░░ very peaceful It s ░░░░░░░░ thoughtful and and well ░░░░░░░░ by a group of ░░░░░░░░ who have been very ░░░░░░░░ in getting action done.”
