YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki Apologizes to LGBT Community Following #VoxAdpocalypse

AUDIENCE MEMBER You started ░░░░░░░░ with an apology to ░░░░░░░░ LGBTQ community but then ░░░░░░░░ also said that you ░░░░░░░░ involved and that you ░░░░░░░░ YouTube made the right ░░░░░░░░ Lot of people don ░░░░░░░░ really feel like that ░░░░░░░░ an apology and are ░░░░░░░░ that YouTube flags LGBT ░░░░░░░░ content just for being ░░░░░░░░ as sometimes you know ░░░░░░░░ and yet slurs are ░░░░░░░░ And I m curious ░░░░░░░░ you really sorry for ░░░░░░░░ to LGBTQ community or ░░░░░░░░ you just sorry that ░░░░░░░░ were offended WOJCICKI So ░░░░░░░░ of all I am ░░░░░░░░ personally very sorry and ░░░░░░░░ was not our intent ░░░░░░░░ goal was YouTube has ░░░░░░░░ been a home of ░░░░░░░░ many LGBTQ creators and ░░░░░░░░ s why it was ░░░░░░░░ emotional and that s ░░░░░░░░ I think this really ░░░░░░░░ s why even though ░░░░░░░░ was a hard decision ░░░░░░░░ was made harder that ░░░░░░░░ came from us because ░░░░░░░░ ve been such an ░░░░░░░░ home And even though ░░░░░░░░ made this heard this ░░░░░░░░ which I m going ░░░░░░░░ get into a little ░░░░░░░░ more with your question ░░░░░░░░ saying we really YouTube ░░░░░░░░ have so many people ░░░░░░░░ YouTube from the LGBTQ ░░░░░░░░ and we ve always ░░░░░░░░ to support the community ░░░░░░░░ in spite of this ░░░░░░░░ issue that we ve ░░░░░░░░ right now So I ░░░░░░░░ just saying people have ░░░░░░░░ a lot of criticism ░░░░░░░░ why are you still ░░░░░░░░ did you change your ░░░░░░░░ to rainbows even though ░░░░░░░░ made this hard decision ░░░░░░░░ it s because as ░░░░░░░░ company we really want ░░░░░░░░ support this community It ░░░░░░░░ just that from a ░░░░░░░░ standpoint we need to ░░░░░░░░ consistent because if we ░░░░░░░░ down that content there ░░░░░░░░ be so much other ░░░░░░░░ that we would need ░░░░░░░░ take down and we ░░░░░░░░ t want it just ░░░░░░░░ knee jerk we need ░░░░░░░░ think about it in ░░░░░░░░ very thoughtful way be ░░░░░░░░ to speak with everyone ░░░░░░░░ ll speak to people ░░░░░░░░ the LGBTQ community make ░░░░░░░░ that we re incorporating ░░░░░░░░ going forward in terms ░░░░░░░░ how we think about ░░░░░░░░ and then make sure ░░░░░░░░ we are implementing that ░░░░░░░░ a fair and consistent ░░░░░░░░ going forward And you ░░░░░░░░ I think that it ░░░░░░░░ a hard week across ░░░░░░░░ board and I am ░░░░░░░░ truly sorry for the ░░░░░░░░ that we caused that ░░░░░░░░ It was not our ░░░░░░░░ at all and I ░░░░░░░░ want to like not ░░░░░░░░ I want to take ░░░░░░░░ in any way from ░░░░░░░░ hurt or the challenge ░░░░░░░░ what happened this week ░░░░░░░░ I do want to ░░░░░░░░ you know that many ░░░░░░░░ that we made in ░░░░░░░░ hate policy which again ░░░░░░░░ a different set of ░░░░░░░░ we think will be ░░░░░░░░ beneficial for the LGBTQ ░░░░░░░░ and there are a ░░░░░░░░ of videos there and ░░░░░░░░ lot of ways that ░░░░░░░░ community is attacked where ░░░░░░░░ will be taking down ░░░░░░░░ videos going forward and ░░░░░░░░ will be very consistent ░░░░░░░░ we see that we ░░░░░░░░ take it down So ░░░░░░░░ thank you for your ░░░░░░░░ I really do apologize ░░░░░░░░ the hurt that we ░░░░░░░░
