CEO Tim Cook: Apple Is ‘Not a Monopoly’

O DONNELL The government ░░░░░░░░ looking into Big Tech ░░░░░░░░ whether companies like Facebook ░░░░░░░░ and Apple are too ░░░░░░░░ Is Apple too big ░░░░░░░░ No I don t ░░░░░░░░ so I think that ░░░░░░░░ but with size I ░░░░░░░░ scrutiny is fair I ░░░░░░░░ we should be scrutinized ░░░░░░░░ if you look at ░░░░░░░░ any kind of measure ░░░░░░░░ is Apple a monopoly ░░░░░░░░ not I don t ░░░░░░░░ anybody reasonable is going ░░░░░░░░ come to the conclusion ░░░░░░░░ Apple s a monopoly ░░░░░░░░ share is much more ░░░░░░░░ We don t have ░░░░░░░░ dominant position in any ░░░░░░░░ You know our share ░░░░░░░░ smart phones in the ░░░░░░░░ S is typically in ░░░░░░░░ high 30s or so ░░░░░░░░ 30s On PCs it ░░░░░░░░ lower than that And ░░░░░░░░ on and so forth ░░░░░░░░ so O DONNELL You ░░░░░░░░ saying you re not ░░░░░░░░ monopoly COOK We are ░░░░░░░░ a monopoly O DONNELL ░░░░░░░░ Elizabeth Warren who is ░░░░░░░░ for president says Apple ░░░░░░░░ break up its App ░░░░░░░░ and other parts of ░░░░░░░░ business COOK Well I ░░░░░░░░ disagree with that I ░░░░░░░░ some people would argue ░░░░░░░░ you are selling a ░░░░░░░░ then you can t ░░░░░░░░ a product that competes ░░░░░░░░ that good And I ░░░░░░░░ that s part of ░░░░░░░░ is being argued there ░░░░░░░░ that s an argument ░░░░░░░░ that takes you down ░░░░░░░░ path that Walmart shouldn ░░░░░░░░ be stocking alternative or ░░░░░░░░ bran and so this ░░░░░░░░ decades of U S ░░░░░░░░ here But I think ░░░░░░░░ is good and we ░░░░░░░░ be we ll tell ░░░░░░░░ story to anybody that ░░░░░░░░ need to or that ░░░░░░░░ to hear it.”
